The brand

Out of the desert, onto your driveway

Falcon Shocks is a TeraFlex product, developed and precision built in Utah by the people who have spent decades building off-road hardware and running it hard enough to find its limits. That is where the dampening knowledge comes from, not from a spreadsheet.

In-house engineering experts have invested hundreds of hours in shock tuning to deliver optimal results that are literally felt by a ‘seat-of-the-pants’ experience.
Falcon shocks are built with state of the art methods including CAD design, finite element analysis, in-house lab simulation and rigorous real world testing.

The Australian chapter

Owned and run here

Falcon Shocks Australia is Australian owned and operated by people from the suspension industry, not a dropshipper with a landing page. Stock lives here, advice happens here, and support doesn’t cross an ocean.

That means kits matched to Australian loads and conditions: Towing a van, canopies on the back, corrugations in the outback. When you enquire, you’re talking to the people who own the brand in this country.

No shortcuts

Tested where it counts

Falcon hardware earns its spec off road. By the time a kit reaches your vehicle, the weak points are long gone.

the technology

[VOD] VOLUME OPTIMISED DAMPENING

Falcon’s proprietary Volume Optimized Damping (VOD) uses a digressive linear valve to sharpen vehicle feedback, stability and control at low speed, at high speed and off road. As the piston moves through compression and rebound, the valve restricts oil flow and creates the damping effect.

VOD ramps up faster than conventional damping. That builds damping volume earlier during low speed driving and reduces shock bottoming at full compression when the pace lifts or the terrain turns uneven.

Traditional velocity sensitive shock absorbers react too quickly at low shaft speeds, which produces excessive head toss over rough ground and even over driveways. Damping then firms up as shaft speed rises and the ride turns jarring.

Volume Optimized Damping holds stability and control across every driving condition.

[ZRT] ZONE RATE TUNING

Zone Rate Tuning (ZRT) is fitted to our Truck and SUV shocks. It reworks the factory linear rate spring tuning into three distinct performance zones, producing a more exaggerated spring curve that copes with a wider range of driving conditions.

In the Extension Zone an internal negative rate spring offsets the preload of the factory spring. That removes top out clunk and shock stress at full extension. It also softens tyre landing and cuts body roll on impact under aggressive driving.

The Drive Zone leaves the factory spring rate untouched, so ride comfort and control stay as intended.

In the Compression Zone the included progressive microcellular foam bump stop retunes the spring rate to reduce bottoming and body roll under aggressive driving.

Philosophy

Design Philosophy

High-value performance drives everything we build. Every Falcon system is tuned for what the vehicle is actually for, so a loaded touring 4×4 gets a different setup to a daily-driven American truck.

Rather than just re-valving a replacement shock, we engineer a complete shock absorber system that lifts how the whole vehicle behaves, while keeping the factory suspension pieces that already do their job.

Our 4×4 and van systems are tuned to work with your factory coil springs and rear leaf springs (where fitted), so you only pay for what actually makes a difference and nothing you don’t need. The result is predictable, planted handling through carefully tuned compression and rebound.

Tuning Philosophy

Australian roads are their own test: corrugations that never end, potholed backroads, long highway hauls, and the extra weight of a loaded tray, a van on the ball or a fully kitted tourer. Falcon shocks are tuned for exactly this: comfort and control on the blacktop, composure through the corners, and steady, predictable steering when the surface turns to washboard.

Each system goes through months of development before it meets Falcon’s performance targets. Our in-house engineers have poured hundreds of hours into it, and you feel the difference from the first drive.

Locally, we’re proving it in real Australian conditions, starting with our Prado 250 build – out into the real outback, so what we offer is tested where you’ll go.

Assembled In-House

Falcon shocks are designed, engineered and assembled from domestic and globally sourced components at Falcon’s own facility in West Jordan, Utah.
Building our assembly fixtures in-house means tight, consistent tolerances, right down to the precise install of sensitive seals and seal surfaces, for a high-quality, trouble-free shock.

The facility runs state-of-the-art CNC machining, operated by trained machinists, for precise components. Every Falcon shock is built around a 2.25″ 6061-T6 aluminium alloy body, a ¾” induction-hardened chrome-plated shaft, hard-anodised pistons and more, the hardware behind the Falcon name.

And in Australia, they’re stocked, fitted and set for your exact rig, so the engineering that goes in overseas is matched by the setup that goes in here.
